Huntington Woods Resident Elected to Association for Women in Communications Detroit Chapter Board

ROYAL OAK – The Association for Women in Communications Detroit Chapter has elected a new board for 2012-2013. 

The officers are:

  • President – Laura Oliveto, senior vice president, Business Development, Basso Design Group, Troy
  • Vice President, Programs – Deniella Ortiz-Lalain, director of Communications, OpTech, LLC, Troy
  • Vice President, Marketing & Public Relations – Sally Ann Brown, senior public relations specialist, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit
  • Secretary – Anne Osmer, president, Osmer Communications, LLC, Huntington Woods
  • Treasurer – Vera Ogletree, communications planner, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Detroit
  • Past President – Adrienne Lenhoff, president, Shazaaam!, Novi

"It is such an honor to lead this chapter as we enter our 75th year," says Oliveto. "We are planning a full schedule of programming to promote professional development and provide many opportunities for networking and social interaction."

The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) Detroit Chapter represents a new way of thinking about collaboration with like-minded professionals while promoting and developing individual career goals. Membership is open to professionals and students in all disciplines of communications. The local organization was established in 1938. The chapter was founded through the efforts of Theta Sigma Phi (TSP) alumni from various Michigan schools.  www.womcomdetroit.org
