Republican County Commissioner Candidate Injured

Steven Zimberg, Republican candidate for Oakland County Commissioner in the 18th District wants everyone to know why they have not seen him walking streets lately.   Mr. Zimberg was recently faced with a leg injury which has curtailed his canvassing the neighborhoods of Ferndale, Hazel Park, Royal Oak Township, Oak Park and even his home town of Huntington Woods.

“Unfortunately, it’s my good leg and it really hurts when I drive or do anything for too long”, Zimberg says.  “I have been going to Beaumont’s physical therapy clinic three to five times a week and although I’m getting much better, it’s still a setback and voters should know why I have been so quiet.” Zimberg vowed to continue his campaign despite this temporary setback, albeit a little more creatively and with the added participation from his constituency.

“It’s nowhere as serious as Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson’s situation but I have no doubt we will each have recovered in time to handle our responsibilities, once (re)elected in November”, said Zimberg.

Zimberg’s Doctors explain that his tripping at a construction site likely exacerbated an issue of osteoarthritis.  He was working at the Marathon Oil Refinery in Dearborn along with hundreds of other union electricians of Local 58 and other trades helping with their Heavy Oil Upgrade Project.

While Mr. Zimberg still does his door to door canvassing, he says the recent Candidates Forum organized by the league of Woman Voters is an excellent resource for comparing his positions with his opponent incumbent Helaine Zac(k) and can be found on his website in both video and article form.  Zimberg asks those interested in learning more about his background and positions or how they can help visit his website zimberg4commissioner.com, on Facebook at Zimberg4Commissioner or by phone at 248.543.8844.
