Karate for Kids, Music Classes and More Offered in Berkley

Find out what Berkley Parks and Recreation has planned this month.

The Berkley Department of Parks and Recreation offers a wide range of programs each week at the Berkley Community Center.

Here's a look at some of what's going on at the center for the remainder of this month. Classes that have already started will be pro-rated for late registrations. For more information on any of the programs, call 248-658-3470.

Kindermusik Village

  • Meets at 9:15 a.m. Fridays.
  • Open to ages newborn through 18 months.
  • 8-week course costs $65 and is pro-rated for every missed class. $5 non-resident fee.

  • Parent-Tot Play Group

Senior citizens

Berkley Senior Movies

  • 2 p.m. April 10, April 17 and April 24.
  • Seniors are invited to enjoy a different movie each week in a movie theater atmosphere. Refreshments included in the 50 cent admission price.

Aging In Place

  • 12:30 p.m. April 17.
  • Free event to learn how to help seniors "age in place" in the home they love.

Tai Chi Chuan Class

  • Gentle motion class designed with seniors in mind. Multiple dates offered.

Computer classes are also being offered, including a course on Windows 8, advice for buying a laptop and emailing and laptop sessions.
