Birmingham Gymnastics Defeats Dearborn Edsel Ford

The Birmingham unified gymnastics team, made up of athletes from and high schools, hosted Dearborn Edsel Ford on Monday, Jan. 23 and defeated them 135.25 points to 118.65.

Birmingham's score on Monday night was their season's best.

The top scorers from each event included:

• Vault: Sydney Lapointe (D.E.F.), 8.90  
• Uneven Bars: Jennifer Kendall (B.U.G./Seaholm),   8.80 
• Beam: Sydney Moosekian (B.U.G./Groves), 9.05  
• Floor: Isabelle Cutler (B.U.G./Groves), 8.90  
• All Around: Sydney Lapointe (D.E.F.) 33.25

Birmingham unified's record now stands at 3/1/0 and their next meet will be Jan. 26 at Livonia Churchill High School against Livonia Blue Stevenson.
