Devin Church, the senior tailback for the 2011-12 Brother Rice football team, made the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association's all-star team for the East-West All-Star game, to be held June 30 at Central Michigan University.
Both teams are made up of 44 of the best high school football players around the state. Church will be playing for the East team, coached by Mike Giannone of Macomb Dakota High School.
Church stole the show for Brother Rice this year, leading the Warriors to a . Playing as running back in the final game, and caught three touchdowns during his team's 24-14 win against Lowell.

Church is the only Birmingham-area athlete to be drafted to the All-Star game. Nate Cole from Lahser High School made the cut, as did Tony Annese from Rochester Adams.
Game time for the All-Star game will be announced in the spring. Tickets are $5 in advance and will be available at www.mhsfca.com on May 15. Tickets will be $10 at the gate.
