Eton to Offer Community Presentations, Open Houses This Winter

, a specialized independent school for students in grades 1-12 with reading, attention and other learning challenges, will be offering several community presentations and open houses this winter.

“Our Eton team strongly believes in community outreach,” said head of school Pete Pullen. “We are a resource for parents, teachers and interested community members who may benefit from better understanding how to identify and support a different learner. Regardless of which school is the best fit for the child and their family, we have
access to research and educational tools that we are happy to share.”

Community Presentations

Pullen will present “Five Ways to Help your Child Overcome ADHD or Dyslexia.”

The public is invited to attend the free presentation that will focus on all learning challenges students may encounter as well as strategies to use in the classroom and at home. Upcoming dates include:

• 6:30-8 pm, Jan. 26: At the Madison Heights Public Library (240 West 13 Mile Rd.) This presentation will be given by Upper School Director, Ellen Tatone.
• 6:30-8 pm, Feb. 6: At the Berkley Public Library (3155 Coolidge)
• 6:30-8 pm, March 29: In the Club and Community Room at the Hazel Park Community Center (620 W. Woodward Heights)

A special presentation by five Eton Middle and Upper School students will take place from 6:30-8 pm March 1, at the Southfield Public Library (26300 Evergreen Rd.) The students will speak openly about how they manage their learning challenge and answer questions from the audience. This presentation is appropriate for Middle School students and older to attend with their parent.

Open Houses

Eton Academy also will host Open Houses from 9-11 a.m. every Tuesday in February. Guests will have the opportunity to hear from Pullen, academic directors, teachers, students and current parents as well as tour the school.
