The Maple Machine robotics team, made up of students from and high schools, received a FIRST grant from Chrysler. The grant, totalling $6,625, will be used to help the team attend the FIRST Robotics Competition Championship.
In total, Chrysler awarded $133,000 in grants to 22 robotics teams in Michigan, Indiana, Arizona and Virginia as an affirmation of their commitment to training the next generation of engineers and scientists, a recent press release reads.
Approximately 25 high school students make up each FIRST team, which has six weeks to design and build a robot to perform a prescribed series of tasks.
