State Rep. Mike McCready appointed last week by House Speaker Jase Bolger to the House Appropriations Committee and as chairman of the appropriations subcommittee on Michigan State Police. Â
Within House Appropriations, McCready also will serve as vice chair of the subcommittees on human services and natural resources.
"Balancing the state budget in an effective manner is an essential part of making this state run smoothly and I'm looking forward to serving on Appropriations this term," said McCready, R-Bloomfield Hills. "I'm also honored to serve as chair of the Michigan State Police subcommittee and am ready to look for ways to help keep our officers on the street, while finding ways to be more effective in how we use state dollars."

"Our roads and bridges are crumbling more and more every day," McCready said. "We need to take a hard look at how we can improve our transportation to help keep Michigan's hard-working taxpayers safe. I look forward to digging into this issue while serving on the transportation committee."
