On the Agenda: Common Core, Athletic Advisory Board Presentations

The Birmingham Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the on West Merrill Street.

Reports:

• Stephen Palmer, assistant superintendent for instruction, will present on the district's Common Core initiatives.
• Paul DeAngelis, deputy superintendent for educational services, will present about the district's athletic advisory board.

Resolutions:

• Approving the district's overnight field trips for spring 2012.
• Awarding a contract to Seal Tite USA, LLC for the district's 2011-12 roof repairs, for a total cost of $158,415.30.
• Awarding a contract to Star Trac Enterprises, LLC for track resurfacing and repairs at the stadium for a total cost of $45,100.
• Recognizing the service of the , the former track and cross country coach who passed away a few weeks ago.
