The Community House Inaugural Gala to Honor Family Business Owner David Trott

Plans are well underway for 's first annual gala, to be held March 24 in order to honor Farmington Hills business leader, David Trott.

“We are excited at The Community House to plan our first annual, black tie optional gala on March 24," Camille Jayne, president and CEO of The Community House said in a recent press release. "The proceeds of this special event will support our outreach efforts in leadership, arts and culture and wellness education."

Choosing who to honor at the gala involved several guidelines, Jayne said, including:

  • That person must be the majority business owner of a family business in southeast Michigan.
  • That business must have been in existence for more than five years.
  • That person is a "conscientious contributor" of time and talent throughout southeast Michigan.
  • That person must be an advocate of The Community House.
  • That person must be "an example of personal values and ethics," while their company is a "model of excellence in product and customer service in the professional community."

Jayne said picking Trott, chairman of the Farmington Hills-based Trott & Trott, P.C., as well as vice chairman of The Community House board of directors, was easy.

"We could think of no one better qualified than David Trott," she said. "The theme of this year's gala is "Creating More Vibrant Lives," which is exactly what David helps to do for so many every day."

Trott & Trott, P.C. has been recognized as one of the nation's leading law firms conducting residential default procedures, representing mortgage bankers, regional property owners, investor groups and individual entrepreneurs.

Trott's parents founded the firm in 1976 and in 1993, Trott became the president and managing attorney.

During the gala, guests will also hear remarks from keynote speaker, Allan Gilmour, president of Wayne State University and former CFO and vice chairman of Ford Motor Company.

The black tie-optional event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a VIP reception for gala sponsors. A silent auction will also be on display.

A chamber music ensemble from the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra will open the evening in The Community House Wallace Ballroom, followed by dinner and dancing.

Proceeds from the event benefit outreach programs of The Community House, including all arts and culture programs, as well as the iCount/KidsCount lifestyle program. This program is currently offered to Detroit nonprofits such as The Children’s Center, The Development Center; C, Matrix Human Services (Headstart), and Horizon’s Upward Bound.
