Tickets On Sale for DSO Neighborhood Concert Series

Subscriptions are now on sale for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) Neighborhood Concert Series in Beverly Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Dearborn, Grosse Pointe, Southfield and West Bloomfield Township.

Subscriptions purchased before Oct. 1 will receive a free ticket to an Orchestra Hall concert this fall. Each general admission subscription is $75 and can be purchased in-person at the Max M. Fisher Music Center Box Office (3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit), or by calling (313) 576-5111.

Featuring repertoire from select Orchestra Hall concerts as well as selections prepared especially for the neighborhoods, the 2012-13 season marks the second year for the Neighborhood Concert Series. Last year’s inaugural season had a subscriber base of 1,773 — 86 percent of which have no subscription history at Orchestra Hall or have not subscribed since the 2008-09 season.

Neighborhood audiences will see both Music Director Leonard Slatkin and Assistant Conductor Teddy Abrams on the podium, as well as welcome the DSO’s new concertmaster, Yoonshin Song, who is preparing a solo performance.

Individual tickets will be $25 and will go on sale Oct. 29. Performances are scheduled beginning Dec. 16 through June 6. A $25 donation to the DSO’s Annual Fund waives all fees, and patrons can add upcoming Neighborhood Chamber Recitals to their subscriptions for just $10 each.
