Birmingham Shopping District Announces New Executive Director
Ingrid Tighe, a U.S. Army veteran has been named Executive Director of Birmingham Shopping District effective Apr. 17.

From The Birmingham Shopping District: The Birmingham Shopping District (BSD) Board of Directors recently announced the appointment of its new Executive Director, Ingrid Tighe. On March 29, Tighe was unanimously appointed to serve as Executive Director of the Birmingham Shopping District beginning Monday, April 17, 2017.
“Following an extensive recruitment and selection process, the BSD Executive Committee is very pleased to recommend Tighe for the Executive Director position,” said Chair of the BSD Board, Jeff Hockman. “Her impressive skill set and professional experience makes her an excellent candidate for this position.” Tighe brings 12 years of experience in economic development, business development, commercial real estate and federal/state government. She has demonstrated strong abilities in stimulating economic development with leadership and project management abilities. Her experience as a Business Development Manager for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, as CEO of the Clifton Park, NY Industrial Development Authority and commercial real estate experience with Hines Interests Limited Partnership, in combination with her Master's Degree in Public Administration, will be invaluable in serving the Birmingham Shopping District. In addition, Tighe served seven years in the U.S. Army and obtained the rank of Captain. She had overseas assignments in Baghdad, Iraq, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Germany.
“Tighe’s commercial real estate experience and strong ability to attract and promote business growth will help Birmingham continue to thrive,” said Birmingham City Manager, Joe Valentine.
