Birmingham Students Qualify for Second Round of Michigan Mathematics Competition

Twenty-six students from Seaholm and Groves high schools qualified for the second part of the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition.

There are definitely some math whizzes roaming the halls of Birmingham's Seaholm and Groves high schools.

Twenty-six high school students from Birmingham's two high schools recently qualified to participate in the second part of the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition.

Each year, thousands of Michigan students participate in the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition, offered by the Michigan Section of the Mathematics Association of America.

Only the top 1,000 students are invited to participate in the second half of the test, bringing each one closer to scholarships ranging from $250 to $2,500.
