In Brief: Planning Board Approves Fiat Dealership on Woodward
If approved by City Commission, the dealership and showroom would be one of the few places to purchase Fiat 500's in southeastern Michigan.

The Birmingham Planning Board passed along a proposal Wednesday night to build a Fiat dealership and showroom at 34500 Woodward Ave.
Representatives from the proposed dealership — including Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and construction management firm Atwell Anderson —presented a revised final site plan to the Planning Board after their plans were sent back during the Jan. 26 meeting because of a disorganized presentation.
The new dealership, if approved by the City Commission, would be one of the few locations to purchase Fiats in southeastern Michigan. Fiat, an Italian automobile manufacturer, merged with Chrysler in January 2009 and began introducing its Fiat 500 to the U.S. market for the first time in 25 years this month. In southeast Michigan, Fiats can only be purchased at Golling Chrysler, Fiat of Novi and Fiat of Clinton Township.
