Suspected Drunken Driver Leads Police On 100+ MPH Chase In Oakland County: Police
Police said the pickup truck driver hit a curb, went into a ditch and hit a tree, and then tried running away from officers on foot.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A suspected drunken driver was arrested after leading police on a chase with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour before crashing in Bloomfield Township last Saturday, according to police.
Witnesses called police and told them there was a white Toyota Tacoma was "swerving all over the road and running red lights," at 1 a.m. Saturday morning on Telegraph Road near Lone Pine Road, according to police.
Officers then found the truck speeding on Telegraph near Square Lake roads, according to police.

Officers activated their lights and sirens and tried stopping the truck, but the suspected drunken driver sped away, according to police.
Police said the pickup truck's driver was "crossing over all lanes of traffic and was traveling at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour."

As the chase approached Humphrey Avenue, the pickup truck hit a curb, drove over the center median into the southbound lanes, went into a ditch and hit a tree, according to police.
Officers ordered the suspected drunken driver out of the truck, but he took off running, according to police.
Officers caught the man after a short foot chase, according to police.
Police identified the man as 31-year-old Justin Luark from Bloomfield Hills.
Inside Luark's pickup truck, officers found a small bag of pills, which they believe is Oxycodone, according to police.
Officers took Luark to the police station, where he blew a BAC of .153 percent, which is significantly higher than the legal limit, according to police.
Luark was charged with second-degree fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, operating while intoxicated and driving without a license. He was placed in jail with an $8,000 bond.
He could face additional charges once police determined exactly what the pills are, according to police.
