Country Day Edges Cranbrook for State Title in Girls Golf
Rare tie-breaker rule clinches first Division 3 championship in school history.

The Detroit Country Day girls golf team won the first Division 3 state title in school history Saturday following a thrilling battle with Cranbrook Kingswood. The two Bloomfield-area schools ended the two-day tournament at Grand Valley State University in a tie with identical 707 scores, miprepzone.com reported.
But Country Day claimed the title via the fifth-golfer tiebreaker rule. Country Day’s worst finisher, Mallika Brar (96-97-193) outscored Cranbrook’s worst finisher to clinch the title.
Cranbrook Junior Cordelia Chan (78-79-157) and senior Greer Clausen finished first and second respectively with their individual scores, according to MHSAA.com. Country Day senior Ellie Miller finished third individually with a score of 162.
