Man, 77, Injured In Bloomfield Township Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
Police said the elderly man was grabbing mail from his mailbox on the side of the road Tuesday when he was hit by a jeep that never stopped.
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Police are looking for a driver who struck an elderly man as he was on the side of the road getting his mail Tuesday in Bloomfield Township, according to police.
Police said the 77-year-old man was grabbing mail from his mailbox on Eastways Road near Square Lake Road at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a white jeep.
The driver of the white jeep never stopped after the crash, police said.

The elderly man was taken to Trinity Health Oakland Hospital and treated for his injuries, police said. Police did not release the man's condition or the severity of his injuries.
Police believe the jeep was a 2021-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and likely has damage to the passenger side mirror.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash was asked to call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755 and ask to speak with a member of the department’s Traffic Investigation Unit.
