Man Charged in Bloomfield Hills Home Invasions

A man charged in aΒ series of home invasions in Bloomfield Hills last weekΒ remains in the Oakland County Jail pending court hearings this week.Β
Justin Darnell Mallory, 21, faces a preliminary hearing at 48th District Court Thursday forΒ multiple early-morning home invasions that led to a brief chase that ended in Lathrup Village. Authorities arraigned him last Thursday onΒ three counts of home invasion-1stΒ Degree and one count of unauthorized driving away an auto.Β He remained at the Oakland County Jail Wednesday onΒ a $1 millionΒ bond, records show.

Officers with theΒ Bloomfield Hills Department of Public SafetyΒ responded to a home in the area of Trowbridge and Kensington roads at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 16Β after the homeowner said someone was trying to force their way inside, Chief Dave Hendrickson said.Β
Shortly after the initial call police, learned someone forced their way into two other nearby homes, and stole several pieces ofΒ jewelry. The suspect alsoΒ fled the scene in a car stolen from one of the garages, reports said. Authorities arrested him and recovered the stolen items after a short chase.Β
PoliceΒ arrested two other men in theΒ area of Squirrel and Watters roads thatΒ were believed toΒ be involved, but they were released, Hendrickson said. The case remains under investigation.Β
