Thieves Strike Homes Under Construction in Bloomfield Township
Roughly $40,000 worth of appliances and building materials reported stolen, police said.

A burglar or burglars stripped two homes under construction of valuable fixtures and building materials this week in Bloomfield Township, police said.
Officers responded to the 3000 Block of Chickering Lane and the 3000 Block of Anthony Lane Monday after crews reported fixtures, including stoves, sinks, toilets, lights, and other construction materials were stolen. The homes are within just a few miles of one another, and were in the final phases of construction, reports from the Bloomfield Township Police Department said.
Authorities estimate the total loss between both homes at about $40,000.
The thefts occurred sometime between Sept. 7 and Sept. 9, and likely after typical working hours. No suspect information was available.
Anyone with information, or who may have seen any construction activity taking place after hours on Chickering Lane or Anthony Lane is asked to call the department at 248-433-7755.
