Russel Taylor, 84, died Nov. 14, 2012 in his home. He was born Aug. 30, 1928 in Ann Arbor, the son of Carl Melvin and Florence Mabel (Erridge) Taylor.
Russel was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a firefighter with the Ann Arbor Fire Department. Russ enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was active in the Kaleva Snowmobile Club.
On Dec. 11, 1946, he married Patricia Willsher and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2012. Survivors include a son, Stephen A. (Susan) Taylor; 2 grandsons, Christopher (Sarah) Taylor of Grass Lake, Mark (Megan) Taylor of Chelsea; 4 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kylie, Dominik, Kain; 5 nieces, and 1 nephew.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda S. Taylor.
A private burial will be at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor.
