Attempt to steal alcohol
Around 11:40 a.m. Sept. 9, police responded to a business on the 1200 block of South Main Street on the report of a retail fraud that had just occurred.According to a police report, when police arrived they made contact with the suspect - a 46-year-old Manchester woman - as well as the staff from the business.
The staff stated that the suspect had attempted to steal a bottle of alcohol by passing the alcohol off as already being paid for, which it had not been. The business did not want to seek criminal prosecution but said the suspect is no longer welcome inside the establishment, the report states.
A trespass notice was read and served and the case is now closed, police said.
Verbal threat reported
According to a police report, police recently met with a woman who stated that she was intimidated by someone around 8 p.m. Sept. 7 at an establishment on the 2000 Block of W Old US 12.The woman reportedly told police that the suspect believed that his Karaoke skills had been criticized and told the victim to step outside. When she did, the suspect made a verbal threat to harm her, the report states.
The victim was unsure whether she wanted to pursue criminal charges against the suspect, police said, and the case remains open.
Attempted breaking and entering
Police responded to a report of an attempted breaking and entering around 10:20 a.m. Sept. 12 on the 900 block of N. Main Street, according to a police report.The complainant said that when he arrived he found a window had been broken out, the report states. It was determined that the window had been broken out sometime between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 10:15 a.m. Sept. 12, police said.
