Good Samaritan Returns Wallet to Chelsea Police

The following information was supplied by the Chelsea Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

On Sept. 25, a wallet found near the 1100 block of S. Main Street in Chelsea was turned into the Chelsea Police. Upon further investigation, the wallet was determined to contain money as well as identification of the wallet's owner. Police officers were able to obtain a phone number for the owner and returned the wallet.

Breaking and Entering

Officers with the Chelsea Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Main Street at approximately 7 a.m. Sept. 29 in response to a breaking and entering complaint. According to police records, officers met with the business manager who stated that she closed the building at approximately 10 p.m. on Sept. 28 and when she returned back to work the next morning, she noticed no forced entry, however multiple items were missing from the store. The incident remains open and is under active investigation.

Prisoner Transfer

The Chelsea Police Department received custody of a 19-year-old Whitmore Lake woman from the South Lyon Police Department through a warrant arrest on Sept. 29. The woman was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail pending arraignment on charges.
