• Chelsea community social worker pilot program sets goals for final year (wemu.org) — Chelsea’s new community social worker pilot program is already showing promise and has set ambitious goals for its second and final year, including reducing barriers to emergency housing and shelter. Led by social worker Emilee Fetters, the effort focuses on residents in Chelsea and western Washtenaw County, with hopes the city will extend the program beyond the pilot phase.
   

• Chelsea Council Votes in New City Manager (thesuntimesnews.com) — Chelsea City Council has voted to extend a conditional offer for city manager to Elle Cole, aiming to bring stability after a period of leadership turnover. Following public interviews and unanimous council support, Cole is set to assume the role pending a routine background check, with members praising her experience and collaborative leadership style.
   

• Lima Twp: ZBA Public Hearing Notice 1/29/26 (thesuntimesnews.com) — Lima Township’s Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on January 29, 2026, about a requested variance to build a non-agricultural barn on N. Dancer Road near Dexter. Chelsea-area residents can review the application at the Lima Township offices and send written comments to the zoning administrator’s Chelsea P.O. Box or email before the meeting.
