The department consists of 30 part-paid volunteer fire fighters, currently led by Chief Richard Dylewski, who are all highly trained and skilled. All of the members of our department complete state certified FireFighter I and II training courses, along with completing a state monitored written and practical exam. Additionally, it is required that all members of the Clawson Fire Department must be residents of the City of Clawson.
We are on-call 24 hours a day and respond to any fire, rescue, and extrication emergencies that occur within the city. Members are also part of the Oakland County Strategic Response Unit (SRU) which provides specialized high angle rescue, hazardous materials and confined space rescues.
