$6,500 in Kay Jewelry Stolen; Jet's Pizza Driver Beaten with Baseball Bat

Man with series of warrants from Detroit arrested for domestic violence
Clinton Township police arrested a 46-year-old man Oct. 8 in the 35000 block of Willis for domestic violence after he threatened other members in the home with two knives.
Witnesses said the suspect, who has several warrants for his arrest out of Detroit, had been drinking. While arguing with others in the house, the suspect became physical and grabbed kitchen knives on two separate occasions, according to the police report.

The suspect, who should have been wearing a tether and is not to have alcohol as part of his probation, was arrested at the scene.

On Oct. 9, at approximately 5:48 p.m., employees at the Kay Jewelers on Hall Road reported the theft of an estimated $6,500 in jewelry.
An employee told police two men acting suspiciously had been in the store on Oct. 5 and Oct. 9, asking to see two sets of rings and Movado watches on their second visit, according to the police report.
One of the men left the store while the other tried on the rings and a $3,000 watch. When the man finished trying the items on, he called someone on his cell phone to say he had the watch and rings before running out of the store, the employee told police.
The men were seen leaving together and mall security was able to record the license plate number.
Police describe one man as being a black male in his late 30s or early 40s, bald with a goatee, wearing a mustard-colored jacket at the time of the theft. The second man is described as a black male in his 30s, with dread locks and wearing aviator sunglasses and a black jacket at the time of the theft, according to police.
There have been no arrests at this time.
Jet's Pizza driver beaten with baseball bat
On Oct. 5, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a 32-year-old Jet’s Pizza delivery man reported to police he had been assaulted by two masked persons near his home on Ormsby.
The man said he had gone home to get his wallet and when he came out of the house, two men were there, striking him with a baseball bat several times in the ribs and leg, according to the police report.
The victim told police he fought back and was able to wrestle the bat away before running to a neighbor’s house to call 911. The identity of the suspects is unknown, police say.
The suspects were wearing ski masks at the time of the attack.
Accident involving high driver blocks southbound Harper near 15 Mile
On Oct. 7, at approximately 5:19 a.m., police officers responded to the report of an accident blocking the southbound lanes of Harper near 15 Mile Road.
The 19-year-old female driver seemed to be under the influence of marijuana, according to police. She was unable to provide her license and could not explain what happened in the accident, which appeared to be a type of hit-and-run, police say.
A baggie of marijuana was found in the vehicle and the woman arrested for violating the controlled substance act, according to police. Her car was impounded.
Beverage thief strikes again at Vince & Joe's
Police continue their search for a man linked to multiple thefts from local businesses, including Vince & Joe’s and Marathon Gas.
The man was most recently recorded on surveillance video at Vince & Joe’s loading 22 cases of water from the front of the store into his truck, which is described as a black mid-size vehicle, according to the police report.
The theft occurred between 11:09 p.m. and 11:11 p.m. Oct. 2.
The suspect is described as a white male, weighing around 200 pounds and standing between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 feet, according to the police report.
