Clinton Township Man Killed In Crash

A crash on eastbound I-94 near the Metropolitan Parkway exit killed a Clinton Township man Sunday.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 60-year-old Clinton Township man was killed early Sunday when he crashed his Ford Escape after losing control on eastbound I-94 near the Metropolitan Parkway exit, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Pruehs was discovered dead outside the vehicle by deputies at about 8:30 a.m. Reports said witnesses saw the Escape being driven erratically just before the crash.

Pruehs crossed several lanes of traffic and had attempted to exit the freeway at Metropolitan Parkway when he lost control of his vehicle, the Sheriff’s office said in a statement. Witnesses also saw him thrown from the vehicle, according to reports.

The Sheriff’s office said it doesn’t believe Pruehs was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash, police said.

There were no other passengers in the Ford Escape or other injuries reported, the Sheriff’s Office said.
