Clinton Twp. Duo to Spend Life in Prison for Fatal Robbery

Larry Stewart, 22, and Renyatta Hamilton, 21, were sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without parole in the robbery and death of Kevin Brown, 22.

A pair of Clinton Township residents were sentenced today to spend the rest of their lives behind bars for their involvement in the robbery and death of a Highland Park man in December 2011.

Larry Stewart, 22, and Renyatta Hamilton, 21, were sentenced Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Macomb County Circuit Court to life in prison without parole in the death of Kevin Brown, 22.

Prosecutors say Brown was the victim of an armed robbery orchestrated by Stewart and Hamilton on Dec. 19, 2011. Lured to the Clemens Court Apartments in Clinton Township on the pretext of taking Hamilton out for a date, Brown was ambushed by Stewart and shot four times in the struggle that followed, The Macomb Daily reported during the July trial.
