CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A fire caused extensive damage to a Clinton Township home late Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to a Vermander Avenue home and found it full involved. The fire was brought quickly under control, but significantly damaged the home, according to fire officials.
The home, which is located between Gratiot Avenue and Kentucky Street, was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. A total of 18 firefighters were involved in snuffing out the fire, according to a Macomb Daily report. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
“We pulled up and there were flames everywhere, coming from the side,” Clinton Township Fire Department Battalion Chief James Hovanec told the newspaper. Fire officials do not suspect foul play was involved in the fire.
