CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Three L'Anse Creuse Public School students beat out students from five other districts to win first place in the Macomb County Manufacturing Day student video contest, according to a press release. Manufacturing Day is a national celebration of how crucial manufacturing is to our economy.
Frederick V. Pankow Center TV and Broadcast students Joshua Brockett, Lindsay Cameron and Matthew Vaillancourt created the first place video, which featured Fisher Company of St. Clair Shores. L'Anse Creuse teacher Michael Kaufman oversaw the students' work, and said in a statement, "The Pankow Center’s broadcast journalism program has been a point of pride for L’Anse Creuse Public Schools and winning the MFG Day video competition continues to provide evidence that career-focused education works."
In honor of the achievement, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel presented the school with a $1,000 check.
