M-59 Set To Reopen Friday
All four lanes of M-59 should be reopened by late Friday, according to MDOT.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — After months of construction and orange barrels, Macomb County drivers can look forward to a fully reopened M-59 by late Friday, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Reconstruction from M-53 to Garfield Road will end Friday when crews will remove signs and those dreaded barrels and finish up striping the new road surface. All four lanes of the road will be reopened at that point.
MDOT says utility companies will need to work at the Hayes Road intersection for a few days within the next few weeks, however. It will require the right lanes to be closed, but the intersection will remain open.

“We made a promise to the business community at the start of this project to be out of their way in time for the Christmas shopping season,” MDOT Construction Engineer Jim Petronski told the Macomb Daily Newspaper. “We’ve noticed traffic already picking up at some of the shopping centers.”
The second half of the Hall Road construction project will begin next spring. M-59 between Garfield to Romeo Plank Road will be reconstructed and landscaping will be installed from M-53 to Garfield Road.
