Macomb's Habitat For Humanity Seeks Volunteers

Macomb's Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers with vehicles from now until Apr.2 to assist in moving locations in Shelby Township.

From Macomb Habitat for Humanity: By Monday, April 3, 2017, Macomb County Habitat for Humanity must move all of its product from their now-sold Groesbeck store to their new ReStore located at 46614 Van Dyke, Shelby Township.

While Habitat has three trucks of varying sizes to assist in the move, they really need three times that many vehicles and a host of volunteers to assist.

Several companies have stepped up to help. First in line was Progressive Plumbing Supply, who helped with a previous move. And following closely behind was the IBEW who immediately put out the call for help and then donated a U-Haul for the week. Other donors include Two Men and A Truck who offered two trucks and helpers for a day and scores of volunteers from Macomb Spartans.

Still, even with the generosity of these companies, Habitat needs more trucks and volunteers to assist between now and Sunday, April 2 nd . –the date they need to vacate the building, between the hours of 9 and 5. Helen Hicks, President and CEO, is thrilled with the generosity of the current donors and volunteers. “We are grateful for all of the help we are receiving. However, the amount of items we have had donated is beyond belief and will require many trips from one store to the other. Any offers of help will be accepted immediately.”
