Man Hides Can of Air Duster in Pants; Cemetery Safe Robbed of $8,700, Police Say

Teen plays bumper cars with motorized shopping cart

Police arrested a 15-year-old girl for retail fraud Jan. 17 after Kmart employees caught her attempting to shoplift.

Employees told police the teen was driving a motorized shopping cart around the 41601 Garfield store, knocking into merchandise, and concealing items such as a ring, sunglasses and notebooks in her purse, according to the police report.

The teen attempted to leave the store without paying for the items but was detained by store employees. Police arrested her upon arrival at the store.

Man hides can of air duster in pants

A 20-year-old man was arrested Jan. 17 after Rite Aid employees caught him attempting to hide a can of Blow Off Air Duster in his pants, according to police.

Employees detained the man at the 35250 Gratiot store and recovered the merchandise. Police arrested him for retail fraud.

Police investigate safe robbery at Cadillac Cemetery

Sometime between 5 p.m. Jan. 20 and 9 a.m. Jan. 21, $8,700 was stolen from a safe belonging to Cadillac Cemetery, according to police.

An employee of the cemetery told police the safe had been moved from its original location and emptied of some $8,700, according to the report.

A construction crew was working in the area during the time of the theft and Clinton Township police say they have a suspect in mind.
