Metro Detroit Weather Forecast: The Heat Is On

After a cool Monday, summer heat will roll into Metro Detroit's weather forecast for the rest of the week.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Here comes the heat. After a relatively cool Monday, the National Weather Service predicts metropolitan Detroit is going to get a little toasty with highs in the mid to upper 80s for the rest of the work week.

But it is July, right? Sunny and 88 isn’t so bad when cold and clouds are just a few months away. At any rate, Sunday evening will see a chance of showers and a low around 61 degrees. Here’s a more detailed look at the upcoming weather forecast:

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. North wind around 7 mph. Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.
