METRO DETROIT — The Detroit weather forecast for the coming work week is going to be warmer than usual. The National Weather service is calling for highs between 65 - 68 degrees Monday through Thursday, or about five to eight degrees higher than normal. The only downside is a chance for rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Here’s a closer look at the weather forecast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. West northwest wind 9 to 14 mph becoming light and variable. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Calm wind becoming west southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. Northeast wind 5 to 11 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Southeast wind 5 to 9 mph. Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am, then a chance of showers between 8am and 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Wednesday Night: A chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
