New Kona Ice Cart Headed to George George Park to Satisfy Summer Sweet Tooths

The Clinton Township owners of Kona Ice have added a miniature version of the popular snack truck to their fleet for use in local parks and at area events.

Nicknamed the "Kona Kart," a miniature version of the Kona Ice truck will make its way to George George Memorial Park this spring.

Known for its Flavorwave, which offers shaved ice in almost 40 flavors, Kona Ice has become a familiar presence at local events over the years.

Although Kona Ice is a national brand, the truck with which Macomb County residents are familiar is owned by Clinton Township residents Jon and Jenessa Price.

Masters of the sweet business, the Price family also owns Coach's Candy at Garfield and Moravian in Clinton Township and Coach’s Ice Cream on Dodge Park in Sterling Heights.

“We’re trying to corner the sweet-tooth market in Clinton Township,” said Jon Price at the September 2012 ribbon-cutting ceremony of Coach's Candy.
