Pankow Student's PSA Wins Top Awards at Orchard Lake Student Film Fest (WITH VIDEO)

Lauren Mueller of the Frederick V. Pankow Center won two awards for her public service announcement which looks at the dangers of alcohol abuse.

"Buzzed flying, is drunk flying. Don't drink and fly."

Although the characters in Lauren Mueller's animated public service announcement are of the insect variety, the message should be clear to the video's human viewers.

A junior at the Frederick V. Pankow Center in Clinton Township, Mueller's PSA looks at the dangers of alcohol abuse from the perspective two bees. The creativity and animation that went into the creation of Wanna Get Buzzed? was recently recognized at the Orchard Lake Student Film Festival.

Mueller’s film took first place in the PSA competition and second place in the overall festival.

“With close to 100 student films represented from some of the best video programs in the tri-county area, that’s quite an accomplishment,” said Michael Kaufman, TV & Broadcast Media instructor, in a statement.
