Rep. Lane Named Vice-Chair of Transportation Committee, Rep. Forlini to Chair LARA Subcommittee
State Reps. Marilyn Lane and Anthony Forlini serve Clinton Township residents in District 31 and 24, respectively.
As the talk in Lansing turns to regional mass transit and infrastructure improvements, Clinton Township residents will have a direct line to the committee in charge through state Rep. Marilyn Lane.
Re-elected in November 2012 to the District 31 House seat, which includes Clinton Township, Lane (D-Fraser) has been appointed to serve as the Democratic vice-chair of the House Transportation Committee during her new term.Â
She will also sit on the Energy and Technology Committee, Elections and Ethics Committee, and the Banking and Financial Services Committee.

"I look forward to putting my experience to work for our communities," Lane said in a prepared statement. "The governor has made transportation his top priority for 2013, and I look forward to working collaboratively to finally pave the way to solving our long-term problem in building and maintaining a first-class infrastructure here in Michigan."
Clinton Township's District 24 representative, Anthony Forlini (R-Harrison Township), has been named to the House Appropriations Committee, and will serve as chair of the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Appropriations Subcommittee.

"Michigan has made great strides in reining in government spending, and I look forward to having a role in continuing that fiscal austerity," said Forlini, in a prepared statement. "I believe there are steps we can take to make state government more effective and efficient."
Forlini is also slated to serve as vice chair of the Department of Environmental Quality Appropriations Subcommittee, and on the on the Joint Capital Outlay, Community Colleges and General Government subcommittees.
"I have fought hard to keep Lake St. Clair free of pollution, and believe I can continue that mission as vice chair of the DEQ panel," Forlini said. "We must have sufficient funding to protect our natural resources while at the same time making the best use of taxpayer money."
