Spitting man bar patron resists arrest

An unruly bar patron was arrested for resisting and obstructing arrest and malicious destruction of property Feb. 3 after he refused to leave the parking lot of The Detroit Pub after having been escorted from the bar itself, according to police.

Employees of the bar told police the 27-year-old man was escorted out around 2:15 a.m. Feb. 3 after he had refused to leave the bar voluntarily. The man attempted to punch one of the employees while he was being escorted and continued to pound on the doors and windows of the bar after being locked out, according to the report.

The suspect reportedly broke the handle of one of the bar’s doors and was still yelling when police arrived. Police say he refused to show his hands and began spitting at the officer who attempted to arrest him.

He was eventually placed in handcuffs. Police report he has several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
