MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A 21-year-old Macomb Township man has been arraigned in connection with taking a MedStar ambulance Saturday and leading police on a short chase. Eric Preston was charged with Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile, a five-felony, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

He is currently being held in the county jail on a $75,000/10 percent cash bond. Preston will face a probable cause hearing on Oct. 23 at 41-B District Court in Clinton Township.

Police allege that he took the ambulance from Henry Ford Hospital in Mt. Clemens at about 6:30 p.m. Deputies were quickly alerted and chased Preston through Mt. Clemens on southbound Groesbeck Highway.
