The Green Lantern Pizzeria Brings 58-Year Tradition to Clinton Township
The new restaurant is located in the former City Pub Grill at 15505 15 Mile Rd.
A self-described "old school, neighborhood bar and pizza parlor," The Green Lantern brought it its award-winning recipes and down-home feel to Clinton Township this month with the opening of its third location.
Located in the former City Pub Grill at 15505 15 Mile Rd., The Green Lantern has its roots in Madison Heights, where Thomas and Irene Vettraino opened their first pizza parlor in 1955.Â
Now boasting three locations, including a carry-out/delivery site in Royal Oak, all Green Lantern businesses are still family-owned and operated, with the Clinton Township venue in the hands of Vettraino grandsons, T.J. and John Spreitzer, according to The Detroit Free Press.

Although the Clinton Township location only opened Jan. 1, co-owner T.J. Spreitzer told The Detroit Free Press that customer turnout has been "absolutely unbelievable," with table wait times stretching 60 minutes or more at the dinner hour.
An official grand opening is in the works for February and this spring, the restaurant plans to add patio dining as well.
