Tickets Selling Fast for Clinton Township Daddy-Daughter Dance

As February approaches, local dads will have two dates to circle on their calendars – Valentine's Day and Feb. 24, better known as the Clinton Township Daddy-Daughter Dance.

Tickets, though still available for this year's dance, are going fast, according to the parks and recreation department.

Fern Hill Country Club on Clinton River Road will host this year's festivities, with doors opening at 1 p.m., followed by lunch. Guests are invited to tear up the dance floor until 3:30 p.m.

A tradition for many Clinton Township families, Parks and Recreation Director Linda Walter said a few fathers and daughters have even made it to the 15-year mark.

"We provide a wonderful backdrop and opportunity for time together and our families make it special," Walter said. "We offer a photo as part of our ticket price. We have dad’s who have every photograph – 15 years worth – you can watch the girls grow up before your eyes."

The ticket price also includes a special gift for daughters and a chance to win a variety of door prizes, including movie passes, nail kits and stuffed animals.

"The chance to spend quality, one-on-one time with a parent is rare," Walter said. "Girls love having a 'date' night with just them and dad ... (and) our dads really enjoy being with their daughters. They aren’t afraid to get out there and dance every dance. They want to spend time with each other – which is the why this event is so memorable."

Tickets are $18 per person for residents and $23.50 per person for non-residents. To be eligible for the resident rate, one member of the couple must reside in Clinton Township.

A total of 10 people can sit at each table, but as there is assigned seating, friends wishing to sit together should register or submit forms with payment, by fax or mail within the same envelope.

Residents and non-residents can register for the dance in a variety of ways:

• Walk-in: Visit the parks and recreation office at 40700 Romeo Plank Rd. Payment can be made by cash, money order, check, VISA, Mastercard and Discover.
• Fax: Complete and sign the registration form (the event number is 150205-M1) and fax it to 586-723-8282. Payment by credit card only.
• Mail: Complete and sign the registration form (the event number is 150205-M1) and mail it to C.T.P.R. 40700 Romeo Plank Rd., Clinton Township, MI 48038. Include a check, money order or credit card payment with the form.
