Dearborn Area Chamber to Reward Residents for Shopping Small This Saturday
Shop local on Small Business Saturday and you just might win a $25 gift card.

The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce will be giving away $25 gift cards at several local businesses on Nov. 30 to reward residents for shopping local.
Using social media to give clues to their locations, the Chamber hopes to encourage residents to support their local businesses on Small Business Saturday. Gift cards will be for the locations where they are distributed.
The promotion is a partnership between the Dearborn Area Chamber, American Express and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, , according to a Chamber press release.
Started in 2010 by American Express, Small Business Saturday has helped boost holiday sales for small businesses around the country, according to a city news release. Last year, nearly 70 million people shopped small in their communities for an estimated $5.5 billion in sales to independently-owned small businesses.
“Dearborn is fortunate to have local merchants who not only invest in our city for economic reasons, but who are also invested in the overall success of our community,” said Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr., in a statement. “They are the ones that Dearborn faith groups, school organizations and charities go to for donations for local fundraisers, and in turn, they deserve our support when we are shopping."
