
A man was arrested for possession of child pornography in Dearborn on Dec. 18, police reported.
Edward Bak, 61, of Dearborn, was arrested on 12 separate charges including: three charges of distributing or promoting child pornography; three charges of possessing child pornography; three charges of using a computer to commit a crime, and three charges of communicating with another person using a computer to commit a crime, Dearborn Police Lt. Patti Penman told local news today.
The arrest was made by Dearborn Police in conjunction with the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Bak was arraigned by 19th District Judge Mark Somers, who set a bond at $50,000, or 10% with the following bond conditions: not to possess or purchase any sexually explicit material, no unsupervised contact with minors and no access to the internet, the report said.
He has a Preliminary Exam date scheduled for Friday, Dec. 27, at 9 a.m.

“With the assistance of our partners on the ICAC Task Force, we will continue to proactively investigate any crime where children are being victimized,” said Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad.
The Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a multijurisdictional task force made up of federal, state and local law enforcement officials. The Dearborn Police Department has one officer assigned to the Task Force.
