Dearborn Man ID'd As Victim In Flint Fatal Shooting: Police
Jamil Kaine, 23, was working inside a store at the MTA bus depot in Flint when police said he was killed in a targeted shooting.
DEARBORN, MI — A Flint man has been charged in the shooting death of a 23-year-old Dearborn man who was the victim of a fatal shooting last week in Flint, officials announced.
Officials identified the victim of the shooting as Jamil Kaine, who police said was working at a store inside the MTA bus center on June 1. Police charged Stand Lavonte Robinson, 38, in connection with the fatal shooting.
Robinson has been charged with first-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon, and three counts of felony firearm, authorities said.

Kaine, whom Flint police previously said was 21, was working inside the store around midnight when police said Robinson went into the store and shot Kaine. Police have said they believe Kaine was being targeted in the shooting.
“Every life lost is a blow to our entire community. The city of Flint remains under a gun violence emergency, allowing us to proactively fight gun violence and harness more resources for public safety,” Flint Mayor Sheldon Neely said.
