The Dearborn Police and Fire Departments recently held its annual "Shop With a Hero" event at the Wal-Mart on Mercury Drive in Dearborn.
Approximately 40 children from Dearborn schools were paired with a police officer or firefighter and given a $100 gift card to spend at the store.
The event is held annually in conjunction with the Dearborn Police Charity, Dearborn Fire Department Burn Drive and Wal-Mart.
