Dearborn's Rep. Abdullah Hammoud Sworn Into Michigan House of Representatives
State Rep. Abdullah Hammoud (D-Dearborn) is in his first term representing the 15th House District.

DEARBORN, MI — Rep. Abdullah Hammoud (D-Dearborn) was ceremonially sworn in on Jan. 11 to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives for the 99th Legislature in 2017-18, according to a press release.
Rep. Hammoud is a lifelong Dearborn resident, and attended Dearborn Public Schools his entire life. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and his Master's in Public Health from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
In a statement, Rep. Hammoud said “Dearborn is a diverse community – culturally, demographically, and economically - and I look forward to being that voice for all of Dearborn and its residents. There are several priorities that I am bringing with me to Lansing — health care access and affordability, clean air and water reforms, small business protections, and support for public education.”

Rep. Hammoud was one of seven Wayne County-based representatives sworn into the House. All vow that their priorities in office will reflect those of Southeast Michigan working families, seniors and students, according to the press release.
