DEARBORN, MI — The year is coming to a close and Patch is looking back on some of the big headlines that defined Dearborn in 2019. There’s stories of new development, stories of loss, stories that warm are hearts and stories we couldn’t stop talking about.
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look at 10 stories that help us see what happened throughout Dearborn this year:
- Lately, the new logo is the talk of the town and we'd be remiss if we didn't include Dearborn's plan for a new rebranding, whether you like it or not.
- The new Wagner Park opened up this year, offering a community space that will host fun activities like the Dearborn Farmers & Artisans Market.
- The community was outraged when a Dearborn city employee made a bigoted remark on Facebook about a Muslim supermodel.
- Camp Dearborn opened up Michigan’s longest zipline and apparently the best time to see it is in the fall when the colors are out.
- News swirled when human remains were found in Dearborn over the summer.
- Our local students and families often take center stage in community news and the students in Dearborn did just that with their holiday food drive. They collected more than 60,000 food donations for local needy families. Way to go!
