Fidget Spinner: Dearborn Teen Makes His Own

A Dearborn teen loves fidget spinners so much he decided to make his own.

DEARBORN, MI — By now, most have seen fidget spinner toys. It’s the gadget that seemingly spins forever on bearings with a quick, hardy spin? For Dearborn teenager Joseph Garza, just having one wasn’t enough — so he built his own using design software and his family’s 3D printer.

“It’s just a hobby that I enjoy doing, not a business I profit from,” Garza said. “They’re super fun and easy to make. It’s a lot easier than I expected it to be. The hardest part was trying to find the measurements.”
“My parents think it’s really cool that I’m able to make something from my computer and use it in real life,” Garza told the Dearborn Press & Guide. “They think it’s really fascinating.”
