First Choice Urgent Care Welcomes Clients at New Dearborn Location
Dearborn community leaders and residents toured the new urgent care clinic on Michigan Avenue on Friday.
Despite an afternoon of thunderstorms, dozens of residents and community leaders braved the rain to gather outside the newly opened First Choice Urgent Care clinic in Dearborn on Friday for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The clinic, located at 23455 Michigan Ave., has a ER-trained staff of five doctors equipped to handle everything from burn and wound care, to minor stitches, sports wounds, broken bones and sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and care.
"The opening of this clinic is a good thing for the city," Mayor John B. O'Reilly, Jr. said. "This type of business is not readily available elsewhere, and the location is clean, upbeat, and sends a positive message that anyone can come and get the help that they need right away."
First Choice Urgent Care also operates an evening clinic at 23822 Ford Road in Dearborn Heights.
Dr. Ali Hassan said the Dearborn location is equipped with nine patient exam rooms, a waiting room, triage room, and state-of-the-art medical equipment.
"Our goal is to have two doctors working at the same time in order to run the clinic more efficiently and avoid patient wait times," he said. "You also get more of a personal doctor/patient relationship. It's a nice environment for patients."
Hassan said the clinic accepts most major insurance carriers. A complete list is available online at http://www.firstchoiceucc.com/.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The clinic's Dearborn Heights location, 23822 Ford Road, is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
