Ford Land Building in Dearborn Earns Top Honor

The building was presented with "The Office Building of the Year" award from the Building Owners and Managers Association Metro Detroit chapter.

Ford Land’s Corporate Crossings building in Dearborn has been presented with "The Office Building of the Year" award from the Building Owners and Managers Association Metro Detroit chapter.

The TOBY award honors excellence in commercial office building ownership and management. Judging is based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators, Ford Land reported.

A team of expert industry professionals conducted comprehensive building inspections to determine the winners.

Corporate Crossings won in the Corporate Facility category. The 218,000-square-foot building located at 550 Town Center Drive in Dearborn is fully occupied by Team Detroit, Ford Motor Company’s marketing and advertising agency.

Team Detroit’s green initiatives include: recycling events, clothing drives, farmer’s markets, green fairs and employee carpools, according to Ford Land.

“The TOBY award demonstrates that great things can be accomplished when landlords and tenants work together to achieve common goals,” said Donna Inch, Ford Land chairman and CEO. "We have a team with representatives from Ford Land, Team Detroit and our building service providers that is passionate about improving building and workplace sustainability. This award is a credit to their efforts.”

Corporate Crossings is a LEED Silver certified building by the U.S. Green Building Council. Additionally, Ford Land and Team Detroit have received the USGBC’s EBie award for driving the green retro-fitting of an existing building, Ford Land reported.
